Why do you love to read?

Many people have already asked me that question, and I always answer them: "BECAUSE I LIKE TO."
Meh. Here's why. I was five years old when my dad taught me how to read. The first word I learned to read was "manok," the Filipino word for "chicken." I was so proud of myself that time I even invited my cousins to come over to our house to show them that I just learned how to read! A family occasion took place a few weeks later. I told my relatives that I learned how to read a few weeks ago. They were amazed (of course) and they told me to read whatever they want me to read. The product name of the bag they own, their wristwatch's brand name etc.
When the day of my birthday came, I received a lot of gifts. One of them was "The Land Before Time (Beginner Books) Box Set." After I've read all of them in just one day, I asked my parents if they could buy me more books for me to read. They agreed and bought me a bunch of books the next few days. Also, everytime before I take a nap in the afternoon, my mom would tell me stories of lost kittens (and how they found their way back to their parents) and many other interesting stories. I love reading because I'm always amazed at stories that I read. I don't know why, but everytime I read, I feel so calm and in peace. Reading takes me to places I've never been before. It expands my knowledge and my... wait for it... wait for it... IMAGINATION.
So there you go. The reason. No. Reasons why I love reading. 'Nuff said.
