Somewhere in Cubao

There's this place somewhere in Cubao, Quezon City, called Cubao Expo (Cubao X). Inside the compound are bars, thrift shops, shoe stores and bookshops. But I like to call it second-hand bookshops because the books that they sell there are second-hand. Get it? Get it? Oh, nevermind.

Happiness is a stack of books!

One of the second-hand bookshops there does not have enough space to put all the books that they have on a rack or on a bookshelf so they just stack it, as seen in the photo above. The books that they sell are so cheap you're going to own ten books (or more) if you have a five-hundred peso bill with you. While rummaging through the stack of books inside, I found a King Solomon's Mine by H. Rider Haggard and bought it for just thirty-five pesos. SWEET!

Inside Remnants

Another second-hand bookshop called "Remnants" can also be found in Cubao X. I think the owner's first name is Remy (Ate Remy), that's why it's called Remnants. The books that they sell are half-the-price compared to the original price. But not all books. Somewhere inside the shop are stacks of back-issues of Reader's Digest magazines. So if you're missing an issue in your collection of Reader's Digest magazines, just go to Remnants and find a specific issue you're looking for.

More books!

So if you don't have ENOUGH money to buy books in major bookstores, just go to the second-hand bookshops in Cubao X and enjoy yourself! If you find the book that you're looking for, buy it and say thanks to the owner or the people/person in charge and tell them your name. They'll surely remember you!
